NUUM Speed School — West LA & Santa Monica
Constantly Evolving.
Never Concrete.
No two athletes develop the same way, so we don't coach them the same way. We meet every athlete exactly where they are, and keep building from there.
Why We Coach This Way
Every Athlete Is on Their Own Continuum
No two athletes develop at the same pace, in the same body, or on the same timeline. NUUM exists to meet each one exactly where they are.
-
01
Every athlete has a different starting point
Training begins with an honest look at where an athlete actually is, not where they "should" be.
-
02
Comparison slows growth
We coach the person in front of us against their own progress, not against a teammate or a highlight reel.
-
03
Fundamentals create freedom
Solid mechanics give athletes room to move confidently instead of thinking their way through every step.
-
04
Understanding creates confidence
An athlete who knows why a drill works trusts their training — and trusts themselves under pressure.
-
05
Growth never ends
There's no finish line to athletic development — just the next honest step forward.
Our Promise
We will never ask an athlete to perform a movement we cannot explain.
Growing up, I had access to elite coaches and facilities, but I rarely understood the purpose behind what we were doing. Workouts were often built around working harder, not understanding better.
I remember standing next to teammates who made it look effortless, and deciding my body must be the problem — not my understanding of it. Comparison became the loudest voice in the room, louder than any coach.
That changed in college. Every sprint, lift, drill, and recovery session had intention. My coaches encouraged questions because they believed athletes should understand their training.
I realized I had spent years trying to become someone else's athlete instead of becoming the best version of myself — comparing my body, my pace, and my path to teammates and professionals who were on a completely different continuum.
NUUM exists so athletes can experience what I wish I'd had sooner: education, confidence, and coaching built around them. We don't compare athletes — we meet them where they are and help them move forward with purpose.
Founder, NUUM
Every athlete starts somewhere different.
We don't coach averages.
We coach continuums.
That's why every session begins with understanding.
What We Teach
Eight Pillars, One Order
Always in the same sequence — each one building on the last, so nothing is asked of an athlete before it's been taught.
Sprint Mechanics
The positions that make speed possible.
Acceleration
Speed, built one step at a time.
Coordination
Timing that turns effort into speed.
Force Production
Force into the ground, efficiently.
Elastic Speed
Bounce and rhythm, not overwork.
Movement Quality
Clean mechanics, even under fatigue.
Competition
The week's work, put to the test.
Reflection
Naming what was learned.
Inside a Session
One Hour, Five Parts
Every session follows the same trusted structure, so athletes always know what's coming — and always know why.

How the Season Is Built
A Twelve-Week Arc, Not a Quick Fix
NUUM Speed School runs in three four-week phases. Each phase builds directly on the one before it, so athletes are always training at the edge of what they've already learned.
Foundations
Sprint mechanics and coordination — the rhythm everything else depends on.
Development
Acceleration and force production — turning mechanics into speed.
Application
Movement quality under competition — tested, then reflected on.
Every athlete moves through this arc at a pace that fits them — the twelve-week structure is a shared rhythm, not a shared finish line.
Why Parents Trust This
Built to Earn It, Not Assume It
This isn't a list of nice things. It's what makes the philosophy actually work.
Small by Design
Every group is sized around the coaching ratio it takes to actually meet an athlete where they are.
Purpose-Driven Coaching
Built on years of athletic experience and a commitment to teaching movement with clarity, purpose, and precision.
No Guarantees, No Gimmicks
We won't promise a faster time. We'll promise every drill gets explained before it's asked of your athlete.
Electronic Timing, Not Guesswork
Official laser timing gates and vertical jump testing — objective, electronic measurement, not a stopwatch and an estimate.
Athlete & Parent Stories
Shared as our founding cohort completes its first twelve weeks.
Getting Started
Before Your First Session
Every athlete begins with a NUUM Assessment.
This allows us to understand how your athlete moves, identify their strengths, and determine the best starting point within the Speed School curriculum.
Rather than placing every athlete into the same box, we meet them where they are.
If your athlete joins after a cycle has already begun, we will make sure they have the foundational understanding needed to enter the current curriculum safely and confidently. Depending on the athlete and the point in the cycle, we may recommend a separate Foundation Session before they join the group.
Now Enrolling
Founding Athlete Cohort
NUUM Speed School is opening its first cohort in West LA and Santa Monica. Founding athletes train in intentionally small groups — not because it sounds exclusive, but because the coaching ratio is what makes "meet the athlete where they are" actually possible. Founding athletes also get first access as NUUM adds team training, camps, and future programs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is NUUM Speed School?
A recurring one-hour athletic development session held in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica, focused on sprint mechanics, acceleration, coordination, force production, elastic speed, movement quality, competition, and reflection.
What skill level is this for?
Any. Our core belief is that every athlete is on their own continuum — sessions are built to meet each athlete where they are, whether this is their first structured speed training or their tenth season of it.
Can my athlete join after the program has started?
Yes. New athletes may join during an active cycle after completing a NUUM Assessment. Depending on where we are in the curriculum, we may recommend a Foundation Session first so the athlete understands the concepts already introduced and can enter the group confidently.
Where exactly are sessions held?
Sessions take place in the West Los Angeles and Santa Monica area. Register your interest below and we'll follow up with the exact location for your group.
What age range do you coach?
Tell us your athlete's age or grade in the form below and we'll confirm the right group for their age and stage of development.
What should my athlete bring?
Athletic clothing, running shoes, and a water bottle. We'll share any session-specific details after registration.
How much does it cost?
Pricing for the founding cohort is shared directly when you register your interest, so we can walk you through it alongside scheduling.
Do you guarantee faster sprint times?
No. We don't make speed guarantees — every athlete develops at a different pace. What we do guarantee is that we'll teach the mechanics and reasoning behind every drill, and build training around where your athlete actually is.
