Coaching at NUUM
Is This the Right Place for My Athlete?
This page is about individualized coaching — shaped around your athlete's goals, not a set curriculum. Looking for Speed School's structured 12-week program instead? That's a quick turn away →.
Why Individualized Coaching
Every Athlete Develops Differently
No two athletes get there the same way. One needs raw speed. Another needs strength and power under control. Another is chasing something specific to their sport — baseball, football — that a general program was never built for.
Individualized coaching starts with what's actually in front of us: the athlete, the goal, and what's standing between them. From there, a coach builds the plan around that — not the other way around.
How that coaching reaches your athlete — in person or remote — is next.
Choosing a Format
Two Ways to Work With a NUUM Coach
| Category | Private Training | Online Coaching |
|---|---|---|
| Setting | In-person | Remote |
| Sessions | One-on-one, in person | One-on-one, remote — programming, video, and check-ins |
| What it asks of your family | Getting to sessions consistently | Space to train and a way to share video |
| Tends to fit | Athletes who benefit from a coach correcting movement live | Athletes without in-person access, or who need flexibility |
Private Training
Private Training is one-on-one coaching, in person. Your coach sees the movement happen, under real load, and corrects it on the spot — not after watching a clip days later. Every session is built around your athlete's specific goal.
Online Coaching
Online Coaching is built the same way — around your athlete's specific goal — delivered remotely, with programming, video review, and regular check-ins from a NUUM coach. We'll be direct about the tradeoff: in-person coaching lets a coach see and correct movement live, under load. Online Coaching can't fully replicate that yet, and we won't tell you it does. What it can be is just as individualized, and as closely coached as a remote relationship allows — built for athletes where in-person coaching isn't the right fit.
Finding Your Fit
Which Format Fits Your Family
A few honest questions usually settle it.
-
01
Can your athlete get to sessions in person, week after week — or does schedule or distance make that hard?
-
02
Does your athlete need a coach right there to correct their movement, or do they train well off feedback and programming alone?
-
03
Do you want the closest thing to being on the field with a coach, or does flexibility matter more right now?
There's no wrong answer — just the one that's true for your family right now.

Still Not Sure Which Is Right?
That's normal — and it doesn't mean you're not ready to start. The next step is built for exactly this: a real conversation, not a form that expects you to have it all figured out first. Tell us you're not sure yet →
